Dear Pastor

Dear Pastors, I had wanted to leave my job to take another job at the beginning of the year, although the pay was significantly less. The reason why is because I am exhausted, unhappy and think that a change might do me good for many reasons. However, after I went to the interview, got offered this great position, my wife decided that she wanted to quit her job due to some health issues and because she is 4 years older than me. She has not been happy for a long time and is on anti depressants (drugs and counseling haven't worked thus far) and has gained some weight, plus she drinks a lot of beer. So I had to cancel my job change even after I gave my notice because we can't take a pay reduction. Now my wife is sitting at home, and is still not happy.  She is a Christian that teaches Sunday school and does morning devotions, but something is missing. How can I turn this around?---G. W.

Dear G.W.

. After reading your letter my first thought was that I wished you took the job that you wanted, even if it was making less money.  By the way this is what happened in our marriage. We made it and it turned out to be the best move ever.     Also after reading your letter, my prayer is that you go to your pastor and ask for help from him or her.  I believe there is something going on and I believe both of you need to seek help.   Your wife is calling out for help and I believe so are you.  My  thought for both of you is that I want to make sure that what is first in both of your lives, should be God.  For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God. Ex 34:14 (KJV). It is evident, that you both are not happy and it could be that you don't have first things first in your life.   Turn to your Lord and Savior.      We have just had Christmas, a time to celebrate the birth of Christ and now we turn our thought towards Easter, where Jesus died for all of us to have life.   He never promised us happy, happy days, but to have hope in the future with Him.   By the way you can not turn this around, only Jesus can.  Both of you have to make a turn around with Jesus's help.   My prayers go out to both of you.  --- Pastor Barbara Blanchard
